Are these small mites harmful to my fish?
i was having a close look at my tank hen i saw a small white dot flicking around so i tried to find it and eventually noticed there were many of these all around the tank on the glass at the top just below the waterline, i had a look at one through a pair of reversed binoculars and made a quick sketch of it and started looking for an image of one. this image is definitely the exact same type:

are these harmful to my fish (clown loaces, silver dollars, catfish, coolie loaches)?
if so what should i do to get rid of them?

Thanks for the help, i had a good inspection of my fish and there were no signs of irritation or any specs on them, the population has dropped from a coupple of hundred to about 3 or 4 mites! il still treat it anyway, again, thanks!
Are there any white dots on the fish themselves? I’ve never seen ick under a microscope, but that’s what it sounds like to me. If that’s the case, you’ll definitely want to go to the pet store and get the proper water treatment to correct the problem. I can’t remember what the product is called, but anyone who works at a pet store should know. The one that i’m familiar with is called rid-ick or ick be gone…. shouldn’t be too difficult to find.
