Binocular Straps

Anyone who is taking/has taken celexa please help?

I have been taking Celexa (1/day) for 3-4 months now. It is the only med I take. I have a depressive disorder. It works great for me with my mood and everything. However, I DREAD going to bed/sleep at night because I have these vivid dreams/nightmares. It is like watching a movie through binoculars and being strapped into a chair at a theater. I have no choice but to watch until I wake up. I am not a character in the dreams, instead, a spectator. Has anyone else ever experienced this on Celexa? Why is this happening? It kills me because the dreams are SO DAMN REAL. At times, I have to question if it was reality or not when I first get up in the morning until I remind myself that I have been in bed since __ time. The dreams aren’t related to anything in life that I have thought/worried about/that is probable/going on. I can watch horror movies & they don’t play out either. I know stress causes REM which makes dreams, but I NEVER had anything even 0.01% like this before Celexa.

Yes it will give you vivid dreams. I just started realizing during the dream it was only a dream and focused on the experience. Like you said I watched it like a TV show and not let my emotions (fear, rage etc) get to me.

Enjoy not being depressed and learn to deal with the dreams. I try to set my mood and think about something I like (walking on a beach etc) while I am falling to sleep and that helped focus my dreams on more positive (although vivid) experience.
