Binoculars High End

binoculars- how can you tell the quality just by looking at them.?

I want to buy some used binoculars. How can i tell the differnce between the cheap 9-20 dollar pair as compared to the high end kind. Just because they are expensive doesent mean they are good.

look for a name brand like Nikon

but how do you know a knockoff?

The best way to do it is to test the binocs in an wide open area where you can see for a LONG LONG ways, and then look at something in the extreme distance, and see what you can tell about the sharpness and color of the image.

you can’t really test binos in the store, it is just too small
